From “we should hang” to a real plan

SkedBolt starts with Ideas that fit your week — then helps you accept something, invite friends, and actually meet.

Ideas

See suggestions matched to your free time, When and Places preferences, and what’s already on your week.

On your week

Accept an idea in one motion, hold a window for later, or start something yourself — then refine time and place.

Invite & meet

Share when you’re ready, see who’s in, and show up knowing the plan is settled — not stuck in a group chat.

Why we built SkedBolt

The gap between meaning it and meeting

The people we care about don’t usually drift away because something went wrong. Sometimes nothing happens at all.

You still mean it when you say, “We should get together soon.” They mean it too. Then a week passes, then a month — and the plan quietly dies in a group chat over schedules, “anything works,” or a reply that never comes.

SkedBolt is for that gap. It helps you see when you’re free, match what you and your friends like, and turn “we should hang” into a real plan — so less energy goes into coordinating and more goes into actually meeting.

Less planning. More living. Together.

There’s something we kept noticing as life got busier.

The people we care about don’t always disappear from our lives because something went wrong. Sometimes nothing happens at all.

You still care about them. You still mean it when you say, “We should get together soon.” They mean it too. And then a week passes. Then a month. Then somehow it’s been six months since you’ve seen someone who used to be part of your everyday life.

Not because the friendship ended. Not because anyone stopped caring. Life just got in the way — work, kids, travel, mismatched Fridays and Saturdays, someone who didn’t want to pick the restaurant, someone who said “anything works,” someone who forgot to reply. The plan quietly died inside a group chat.

That bothered us more than we expected.

So many of the relationships that matter are built through ordinary moments: dinner after work, coffee on a weekend, a birthday, a random Saturday, trying a place someone mentioned. Nothing extraordinary — but years later, those are often what we remember. Making those moments happen has somehow become complicated.

We have group chats to talk, calendars for time, maps for places, feeds to watch other people’s lives — but when you want time with your own people, you’re still sending “When are you free?”, “Where should we go?”, “Does 7 work?”, “What about next week?” over and over.

We started wondering why technology makes so much of life easier, but bringing a few people together still leaves one person doing all the work.

That became SkedBolt.

We didn’t want another social network. We wanted something that helps us live our lives — not watch everyone else’s. The important part isn’t the calendar invite; it’s the dinner that happens because of it. It’s finally seeing the friend you’ve been trying to meet for three months. It’s sitting at the table, not debating the restaurant for another week.

SkedBolt is meant to handle what gets in the way: who’s free, what everyone likes, where to go, when it works, who’s actually coming — the small decisions that turn “we’ll figure it out later” into never.

On your week you see what’s already on. Ideas suggest times and activities that fit your preferences and your calendar. When you’re ready, you invite friends, pick a place or decide later, and accept something onto your week in one motion. Smart Assist can help with the repetitive yes/no and fill-in logic; the app stays out of the way when you’re just trying to meet up.

We don’t think we need another app designed to keep us on the screen longer. We want technology that helps you put the phone down, go somewhere, see someone, and make a memory.

Our hope for SkedBolt is simple: a friend you haven’t seen in months becomes someone you saw last weekend. “We should hang out” becomes a real plan. The person who always organizes everything doesn’t have to carry it alone. Staying close stays possible even when life is complicated.

Sometimes relationships don’t need more messages. They need a way to make the plan happen.

That’s why we’re building SkedBolt.

Less planning. More living. Together.
